FO Friday (December 16th 2011)

Another FO Friday report for me!!  I'm on a roll!!

This past week I finished up my 12 Days of Christmas Afghan!  I started this back in January and knit one square each month.  The squares were designed to be dishcloths but I liked the idea of doing the squares in acrylic and making and afghan out of it instead! After each square was knit, I blocked it and then did a round of single crochet.  Each month I added the new square onto the afghan so that once I was done with the December square all that I needed to do was add a two round single crochet border on the entire afghan.  I like this blanket!!  Here is the FO:

  3. What a great idea. I once tried to do a blanket in a year, and I failed miserably. It took well over 2 years! Well done for sticking to your plan - you are stronger woman than I!

  7. That is beautiful. I like the idea of a square a month. That way you don't feel so rushed at the end. But you do have to have perseverance.

  9. It turned out great and I like your idea of completing it as you go. Mentally, that's awesome. I've not thought of blocking each square vs blocking the whole ghan....but I can see some real plus to doing it that. Great idea. What pattern did you use?
