Tenth Year of Projects - Week 13

Ongoing works in progress:
1) Tegna - I am going to lose yarn chicken...  I have 11 grams left and need to do the neckline plus two sleeves...  Sigh.  I finished knitting the entire body this past week and joined the shoulder seams.  I have also tucked in all the tails!  I had to order a set of smaller needles to do the neckline (I did not have that sizer among all my needles...) and they will arrive tomorrow so I will finish the neckline then.  I am now on the hunt for more yarn!  I contacted the person I bought the yarn from originally and she has no more.  One person on Ravelry had hers listed for sale, but it is already sold.  I have put out an ISO request so hopefully I will find some.  I also suspect I may randomly contact people on Ravelry who have this yarn but have it listed as not for sale - maybe someone will take pity on me and sell me one or two skeins.  I'll update you next week.

Stash Enhancement:
1) I ordered two skeins of West Yorkshire Spinners Christmas colorways - one Holly Berry and one Fairy Lights.  This yarn will become socks soon!!

2) Fibra Natura Lima - I found more of this yarn on clearance at my local Tuesday Morning and plan to make myself a cabled cardigan with it.  I had four skeins at home and bought four more.

Tenth Year of Projects - Week 12

This week has given me a finished object and some great progress on one of my WIPs!

Finished Objects:

1) Bouncy Ball Baby Blanket - It is all done and I love it!!  I had hoped to do a thin pink border around the entire blanket but I did not have enough yarn left...  Oh well, a simple white border looks fantastic!  I am ready to pop this into the mail on Monday or Tuesday so that it has plenty of time to arrive before the baby's due date of September 30th!  I really do adore this pattern!!

Ongoing works in progress:
1) Tegna - this is a summer sweater by Caitlin Hunter.  I cast this on June 28th and in the past week I made a lot of progress on it.  I have now completed the back and have picked up the stitches to do the front portion above the armpits now (and have done several rows).  I am really hoping that this will be a finished object soon, but I am beginning to be afraid that I will run out of yarn!  When I began the front I have about 22 grams of my second last hank of yarn!  I have one more 50 gram hank left and am worried that I will not have enough to complete the remainder of the front plus the two (short) sleeves.  I will keep knitting until I run out (or finish).  If I run out I will contact the person on Facebook from who, I bought the yarn in hopes that she still has a couple skeins left (I bought this yarn from her over a year ago...).  If this fails I will contact a few people on Ravelry that have some of this yarn in hopes that they might be able to sell me some (a couple do have some listed for sale and several also have some in stash - but possibly not for sale).  Keep your fingers crossed that I have enough to finish!!

Tenth Year of Projects - Week 11

This week has given me a fair bit of progress on my newest project!

Ongoing works in progress:
1) Tegna - this is a summer sweater by Caitlin Hunter.  I cast this on June 28th and in the past week I made only the tiniest bit of progress on it.

2) Bouncy Ball Baby Blanket - I  made some fantastic progress on this blanket this past week.  Actually I made enough squares for one and a half little baby blankets!  Here is the story...  I was planning on a 6x6 square blanket (or 7x7 if I had enough pink yarn).  Each square is seven inches across.  I made 20 squares before I ran out of the white yarn I had, so off to Walmart to buy more (since that is where the original yarn came from several years ago).  Bring home the new white yarn to find it is completely different in shade...  The old had a blueish-gray tint to it and the new is a bright white.  sigh.  I was just not happy with the two together - old and new white - since they had too much of a difference in color.  So I started again and made 36 squares with the new white yarn.  Now I am ready to start sewing the squares together and I am expecting the blanket will be done for next week's installment!  PS - I'll use the 20 old white squares on another blanket. I plan to make more squares in different colors and have them more contrasty!

Tenth Year Of Projects - Week 10

This week has given me a new project and some progress on one of my existing projects!  I had no finished objects this past week...

Ongoing works in progress:
1) Tegna - this is a summer sweater by Caitlin Hunter.  I cast this on June 28th and am making decent progress on it.  In the past week I have separated for the arm holes and am working along the back portion now.  I have about three inches of the back done now.  Finally a progress picture:

2) Bouncy Ball Baby Blanket - And I started a new project this week!  I found out a friend of mine is expecting a baby girl towards the end of September and I decided I wanted to make her a baby blanket so here we are!  I started this cute blanket on Friday and have made some great progress!  It is a quick and easy crochet project and it looks so cute once it is complete!  I have made one in the past and love this pattern!  Here is my progress so far:

I did not work on my Scrap Wrap at all.
