Seventh Year of Projects - Week 40

Back for another week in my Seventh Year of Projects!!

This has been a fairly productive week.  After I finished my Sock Madness Round 1 socks I wanted to do something completely different for a bit so I got to work with my acrylic yarn stash and began crocheting some pet snuggles.  I managed to work up three of them and have now begun a little pile of mini blankets to donate to some pet shelter (I'll decide which one later once I have a goodly pile done up).  I'll get back to making some more later this month.  I am aiming to use up all my acrylic yarns to make up charity projects.

I also picked up a pair of vanilla socks that I had begun a while back (over Christmas I think).  I made some good progress on these as well.  I have one done to the end of the gusset decreases and the other is beginning the gusset decreases.  I might get more done on these this week coming up - time will tell.

And I caved and cast on a new project.  I have joined in on the Impressionists MKAL and the first clue was released yesterday.  I managed to get a nice amount done since I opened the pattern.  I hope to work on it some more later today.

And in deciding to do this shawl, I have decided to frog my Find Your Fade shawl.  I have come to realize that I am not completely happy with the combination of colors I dyed for the project.  I love the colors each on their own, but was not really loving the fade that it was going to create.  I decided to use three of the skeins I had set for my Fade to make my Impressionists Shawl.  And I must say I am happy for the decision.  I will make a Fade one day - once I dye up (or find) some yarn that speaks to my heart more strongly.

Until next week!

Seventh Year of Projects - Week 22

Today is Week 22 of the Seventh Year of Projects, NaBloPoMo Day 26, and Day 11 of my self imposed WIP-it Down Week!  This is the last day of my self imposed WIP-it Down week since I am back to work tomorrow morning and I had left this day to be a free day to choose whatever I wanted to work on.  I think I will work on my Coffee Cantata Socks today in hopes that I can finish them off!  That would be wonderful!  I have only one foot to finish and this is done!  Cross your fingers that you see a finished object tomorrow!

I also need to catch up on a few days worth of rows on my Temperature Scarf.  I neglected it for the past few days.  I need to do 6 days worth of rows (so a total of 12 rounds at 80 stitches per round).  I'll get that done first and then spend the rest of the day on my socks.

Yesterday I managed to get a fair bit of work done on my Find Your Fade Shawl.  I figured out where I left off and managed to add a goodly amount to it.  I finished off the garter section of the third color and it is ready for the lace section of that color next.  Here is what it looks like now:

This week coming up I am not sure what my crafting plans are.  My Thanksgiving break is over and it is back to work so that will cut into my crafting time.  I am hoping to get a few things off my WIP list.  I think I will focus on getting a few things off the needles this up coming week.  I will finish my Coffee Cantata socks if I don't finish them today and then I will move onto my Mystery Socks.  Those are also getting closer to completion.  The main reason I want to get a few finishes this week is because I have been drawn into three new projects which each begin on December 1st.  Two are mystery Advent scarves - both will release clues over the Advent season - one daily and the other every second day - and the third project is another mystery sock pattern.  That one will release clues four times over the month of December.  All three of these projects should be completed by the end of December.

WIP-it Down Week Thanksgiving 2017 - Day 10

Today is NaBloPoMo Day 25 and Day 10 of my self imposed WIP-it Down Week.

I had a change of plans yesterday.  I had thought to sew together my BAMKAL squares, but I decided to hold off on and I will wait until the last squares are made.  I did however make the one extra I needed.

I also finished the BAMCAL square that I had in progress from the day before.  I really like this square - the design and the color!  Bonus is that it is a fairly quick and easy square!

And we went out and did some Black Friday shopping.  By the time we ventured out in the late afternoon the crowds were mostly cleared out.  I had the most luck at Goodwill of all places!  Someone must have cleared out some of their paper crafting supplies because I found a few nice things that came home with me!  We went to Hobby Lobby but nothing I wanted was on sale so I left empty handed!  That might be a first for me!  But I was eyeing up a paper pack that I thought was on sale but was not.  I have a 40% off coupon so I may go back this afternoon and buy it.  I also want to go buy a pack of Tombow markers at Michaels but I am still mulling that over.  I'm not sure if I would rather stay home and relax or go out shopping...

The other Black Friday sale I hit up was Amazon and I ordered myself a new FitBit.  I had the old Charge and the strap gave out (after I had it replaced once before over a year before).  So I bought myself the newer Charge 2.  It was on sale for $99 (instead of $149).  I miss my old one so thought I should upgrade and get the newer model.  It should be here on Tuesday!

On the schedule for today is my Find Your Fade Shawl.  I have not worked on this for a while and it is due for some love!  I need to figure out where I left off and make sure my stitch count is on - when I last worked on it I thought I had my count off a bit - I'll get that figured out today and get back to working on this!  Here is where I am at the beginning of the day:

Seventh Year of Projects - Week 3

Back again!  I am back home from the conference and have a progress report.

I made some excellent progress on John's Socks - that 6+ hour train ride allows for some serious knitting time!  My knitting from the orange to the green marker is what I did after last Sunday until I got home from the conference and from the green marker onward was from the last few days after I got home.  I am happy with my progress on these!!

And once I got back home I picked up my Find Your Fade Shawl and managed to make some progress with that as well!  I have finished with the second color and have melted in the third color.  Maybe you will see color number four next week - stay tuned and see!!  The rows are getting longer every two rows so the going seems to be slowing down now.  At the end of color number four the row lengths stabilize and there is no more increasing without a cancelling decrease.  Here is what my Fade looks like now:

Saturday morning marked the beginning of Tour-de-Sock - I have been participating in this challenge for several years now (I think this is year four or five for me now!).  I had actually forgot it was beginning on Saturday morning and did not take yarn with me when I went out of town for the weekend (worked on John's socks instead) so I plan to cast those on this evening.  Each round lasts ten days and I am going to try to complete all six rounds on schedule (even though my Stage 1 will only have 8 days...)  Check back with me in another week and see what I got done!  I am suspecting I will spend time on my Fade and the Stage 1 socks - we shall see!  I am using some of my own hand dyed for this round of the contest:

Seventh Year of Projects - Week 2

I'm back again with my second post!  I spent most of the first half of the week working on my Find Your Fade and made some serious progress!  I am finished the first color and have six rows to go on the second color before I am ready to add in the third color.  We shall see how much I get done once I get back to it later this upcoming week!!  That little splash of blue is where I left off from my last update.

I was also traveling to a conference and took John's Vanilla Socks as I wanted something nice and mindless for my many hours of train travel.  I managed to get quite a lot done!  I am working on the gusset decreases on the first sock!  The marker shows where I was when I left home on Thursday morning!  I will be able to get more done on this one over the next couple evenings and on the way home on Wednesday!

This post is short and sweet!  I'll (hopefully) have more to report on next week after I am back home!
