NaBloPoMo 2017 Day 7

I had a really unproductive day yesterday (in the arts and crafts department I mean).  I managed to do my two rounds on my temperature scarf and that was it!  I had to go into the office for the day (Monday and Wednesday are my teaching days) and then in the evening hubby and I went out for supper and then to do some shopping.  By the time we settled in to watch some TV I was done for the day and didn't do any knitting!  Hopefully I will be able to make up for lost time later today - although today is looking busy as well!

I think one thing on my to-do list should be to clean off my desk area!  I have two banquet tables set up as my desk and art table and things have become very messy and cluttered!  Today I shall make some time to tidy this up!  Here is what I am dealing with now:

Until tomorrow!  Make it a great day!

NaBloPoMo 2017 Day 6

And I continue to stay on track posting every day for National Blog Posting Month!!  Day number 6!

I finished my Mystery Shawl yesterday but it still needs blocking and I have a few tails to tuck in.  I hope to get that done tomorrow!

I got caught up on my Temperature scarf (again).  I was behind by six days...

Once I was done with the shawl I got back on track working on my Coffee Cantata socks.  I really want to get these all done!  I am tired of seeing them on the needles for so long (I cast them on May 29th 2016...)  It is beyond time to get them finished!  I plan to work on these over the next couple days!  I only got a couple rounds done last night...

I also worked on some art projects.  I made myself a small art journal that I plan to work my way through.  It is 28 pages plus the front and back covers.  I'll decorate the covers once the book is all filled up.  I made it using pages from a mixed media book.  I folded the pages in half and then stapled the whole little stack together - I actually got the staples quite close to being on the spine!!  I plan to not use too many embellishments that will thicken the pages too much so that it stays (sort of) closed.  I am excited to work on this little book - it is less daunting than a large surface!

Seventh Year of Projects - Week 19

Week 19!!  WOW!  I am happy to still be keeping up with this!

I have had a fairly productive week.  I finished my Vanilla Socks for John.  I now need to decide if I will save them to give him for Christmas or if I will give them to him now...  I'm leaning towards saving them for a Christmas gift.

I also made some great progress on my Mystery Shawl.  It is all scrunchy and unblocked but is almost done!!  I am ready to do row 279 out of 292 - only 14 rows left to do - but every second row increases the stitch count by one so it keeps getting bigger!  A little over 2000 stitches left to knit!  I am hoping to finish this up after church today - it is all I plan to knit on for the rest of the day!

This week coming up I plan to tackle my Coffee Cantata socks - let's see if I can get closer to finishing those off!!  And the second clue in the Mystery Socks will be out on Wednesday so I will be on that this week as well!  I am trying to refrain from casting on something new and am struggling!!  Especially if I have two finished objects in the past little while (well one finished and one nearly done).  I really want to cast on the second pair of Selbu mittens...  Stay strong Karen, stay strong!

My page of current projects for this YOP can be found here.

NaBloPoMo 2017 Day 4

Day 4!!  I had a fun day yesterday doing a little knitting, lots of art work, and some shopping.

I finished my first multi media piece and I think I quite like it now.  I was not certain as I was making it, but am happy with the outcome.

I got a start on another piece and so far like it, but I am not certain where it is going next.  I'll let it sit and think about what it wants to be!

I got some things for future art pieces too.  I found some nice picture frames that I plan to paint white.  They will form part of future pieces.

I also bought a 9x11 canvas that will use up one of the two frames above.  I found all sorts of other goodies as well - some fake flowers (for embellishments), a flower paper punch, some cardstock paper (three packets on sale for only $3.49, plus a huge package on 40% off), some distress ink pads, and a bunch of other little goodies.  I should have taken pictures to show you, but it was late (dark) when I got home and I was too eager to get started with using things!

Today I plan to work on some art and keep going on my Mystery shawl.  I hope to get the shawl done up soon - like today or tomorrow!  We shall see.  I did not get much done on it yesterday so I hope to make up for that today!

Until tomorrow when I will post my Year of Projects update!

NaBloPoMo 2017 Day 3

Back for Day number 3!  I managed to do a lot yesterday and am pleased with my progress.

I finished clue number 1 on my SKA MOCKs - the cuffs are now done.  The second clue will be released next week (Wednesday) so I need to be patient and wait for that!

I did some more work on my mixed media piece and think it is about done now.  I'll let it sit and decide if I want to add anything more to it - maybe a butterfly might be something to add?

I did not get to working on my bullet journal...  I hope to spend some time on that today!

I made some more progress on my Mystery shawl.  The last clue came out about a week ago and I am ready for row 253 (of 292).  I have done 26 rows of clue 4 so far.  I plan to focus on knitting on this one today and hope to finish it later today or tomorrow!  My progress is slowing as each row gets longer...  But I am nearing the end!

Also I plan to go shopping for more crafty supplies today!  I'll post my haul tomorrow!

NaBloPoMo 2017 Day 2

Back for Day 2 of NaBloPoMo!!  Today I plan to work on my SKA MOCK Clue #1 (this involves knitting the cuff for both legs), I need to work on getting my November spreads prepped in my bullet journal, and I have some mixed media art stuff I want to keep working on.  This should keep me busy for the day!!

First couple rounds done on Sock #1
I'm not too late setting up November on the 2nd!
Needs more paint on it (I think)
My goal for NaKnitMo is 1666.67 stitches per day to hit my 50,000 stitch goal for the month.  Yesterday I knit 1694 stitches!  YAY  so far I am on target.  I should get over that goal for today, but we shall see!

NaBloPoMo 2017 Day 1

So I am taking the plunge and will attempt to post each and every day in November as part of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) 2017!!  I participated in 2015 and posted times only a few times.  I participated again in 2017 and posted 28 times - I only missed two days and labeled it a success!  I am aiming to post all 30 days in November!

This year I plan to write about crafting - knitting, crochet, designing, quilting, cross stitch, some drawing and other artistic endeavors, bullet journaling, and maybe some card making.  I have a little over a week off work this month for Thanksgiving and plan to do some major sorting of all the excess stuff I have and also plan to have several days where I really settle down and focus on a specific project.  Once we get closer to the break I will post my list.

This morning I got ready to cast on the Sock Knitters Anonymous MOCK (Mystery Sock knit along).  The first clue is not out yet (it will be posted some time today) but I did pre-string my beads (the pattern requires the beads to be pre-strung - this is a new technique for me!).  I need to leave for work shortly so I will have ot be patient and cast on once I get home later this afternoon...

I am also planning to participate in NaKnitMo - where I hope to knit 50,000 stitches during the month of November.  More details about this can be found here.  I will begin by adding in my stitches today once I can cast on my MOCKs.

Until tomorrow!  And I need to figure out a little banner for the top of each day's page!
