New Designs!

Finally I am back to posting something on my blog!  It was been far too long since I posted anything!  I keep threatening to do this on a more regular basis but we see how that has worked :)  Maybe this time I will get back into a rhythm of regular posting.

The school year is all done and I have had a bit of time to relax and unwind.  Now I have shifted into gear and am getting things done!  This past week has been quite productive for me! I had two sock designs that I finished the sample, pattern writing, and testing many months ago (like in the fall - October and November!) but then never got around to doing the edits and publishing the patterns.  I finally got that done this past week!!  Both patterns are getting a lot of love on Ravelry and I have sold several patterns :)  YAY!!  I am counting these as finished objects now!!

Broken Glass

Masculine Socks
I also had two designs that I had knit up the sample (again one was completed in early November and the other one in December) but I had not got around to do any more work on those.  I have now got the two patterns written up and have the first one out for testing.  I will get the second one out for testing on Sunday afternoon.  I will be without reliable internet for the rest of the weekend (beginning around lunch time today) until Sunday afternoon so I thought is best to hold off on the second test until I can more easily answer any questions.  These two also count as finished objects (mostly!!)

Churro is now being tested

Inner Peace will be up for testing Sunday afternoon
And I have ideas for several more sock designs that I want to get started on!  But first I really should get a few of my needles freed up!  I have two partially complete Sock Madness 11 socks to finish (well three actually, but I want to focus on two first and will get to the third pair once those are done).  I hope to make some serious progress on these this weekend!!  I'll report back next week with how I managed!  Hopefully I can report two more FOs next Friday!

Invitation to the Dance - one sock complete and the second is part way through the gusset decreasing.

Symphony Socks - both have gusset stitches picked up and one has a couple rounds of decreases done.

Let's see where I am next week!

FO Friday February 12th 2016

Finally another Finished Object!!  I am happy to have my Hitchhiker Scarf all done!!  I cast this on January 10th 2015, worked on it for a while and then set it aside for other projects.  I was challenged by friends to get back to it in January 2016 and I kept plugging along with it for the past several weeks until I got it all done earlier this week!  It is a bit smaller than I would have liked but I did not select the best yarn from the beginning (not enough yardage...)  Oh well, it will still make a lovely neck warmer!

Started: January 10th 2015
Finished: February 9th 2016
Needle: 3.0 mm

FO Friday - I got nothing

So some people are happily posting some Finished Objects (FO) for Friday and I got nothing.  Sorry!!  I have, however, been doing a decent job of working on ALL of my WIPs this past week and hope to have something finished soon!  I have three projects that are more than 50% done so maybe in a week or two something will be done!  On the flip side I have not cast on anything new yet in 2016.  I am not sure how long I can hold out but for now it looks like I will make it through January without a new cast on project!  YAY me!!  But once I finish off a couple WIPs all bets are off!

FO Friday January 15th 2016

Finally I am posting a FO Friday collection!! I have been neglecting this recently and there are a few things I finished up in the end of 2015 and already in 2016 (mostly carry-overs from 2015, but finishes none the less...)

First to close up 2015 I finished up (mostly) both of the Advent knits I was doing.

1) My Advent socks.  I ran out of the cream color for the base yarn so I ended them early and gave them to my sister for Christmas.

2) My Advent scarf - I finished this by the end of 2015 but it still needs blocking.  I need to get that part done!!  I'll post some blocking before and after pictures once I get that done!

2016 is off to a good start!

1) My first finish is 2016 is a new design that I completed the knitting on and now have the pattern up for testing on Ravelry.  This is the first of four designs that will be part of an e-book (and individual designs) which will be available later this year (hopefully not too late!)  The first design is The Four Seasons: Autumn.  This design is top-down and includes a mirrored cable design on each sock.

2) The second finish of 2016 is another design in The Four Seasons group.  This one is Spring and I still need to finish writing up the pattern and get it tested.  I am aiming to get the testing started this weekend!

3)The third finish to start off 2016 is a scrap blanket that I began in 2013 (nothing like taking things at a leisurely pace!!)  I had all the squares made up quite some time ago and began putting them together a few months back (and then put is aside again...)  Anyway a friend of mine at work is expecting a baby in February and some others at work planned a baby shower for her - perfect incentive to get this done!!  (and she loves it ♥ )

FO Friday (January 2nd 2015)

Finally back at blogging and have two finished objects to show off.  I had made up a bunch of saltines (two round grannies) several years ago with some left over yarn and finally about two months ago I started sewing them together.  I got the squares sewn together and then it sat some more.  I finally got the border done on both of them to close out 2014.

Baby blanket #1 (Caron Simply Soft scraps):

Before - all the squares waiting to be joined together

During - all the squares are joined and awaiting a border

After - all done!

Baby Blanket #2 (Red Heart Super Saver scraps):

Before - waiting to be joined

During - waiting for a border

After - all done!!

FO Friday (May 4th 2012)

Finally I have a finished object to report!!  It has been a while!  In the beginning of April I started doing a mystery sock over at the Solid Sock group on Ravelry.  It was so much fun to have a clue released each week.  That gave me a week to do up the clue before the next one was released and allowed me to finish the pair of socks in one month.  I did them two at a time on magic loop so I didn't have to worry about second sock syndrome.  The only trouble I had was that they came out too big.  Oh well...  I didn't read the instructions properly and ended up using the larger needle all the way instead of using the smaller needles on the foot.  Oops!  I also modified the cuff.  The design was for a pretty ruffled cuff but since my socks are always hidden under my pant legs (and because my socks were a bit loose on me).  I decided to do a 1x1 ribbing on the cuff instead.

The pattern is Cherry Littlebottom and here is a picture of my finished socks:

FO Friday (December 16th 2011)

Another FO Friday report for me!!  I'm on a roll!!

This past week I finished up my 12 Days of Christmas Afghan!  I started this back in January and knit one square each month.  The squares were designed to be dishcloths but I liked the idea of doing the squares in acrylic and making and afghan out of it instead! After each square was knit, I blocked it and then did a round of single crochet.  Each month I added the new square onto the afghan so that once I was done with the December square all that I needed to do was add a two round single crochet border on the entire afghan.  I like this blanket!!  Here is the FO:

FO Friday (December 9th 2011)

I am finally back to posting a FO Friday blog!

I have finished my Around the World crochet quilt!!

Here is a link to my Ravelry page about this afghan.  It included 1225 two round granny squares which were then all sewn together.  I made it for a friend of mine to give to his wife for Christmas.  He paid me for the yarn, the postage to mail it to him, and some for my time.  I think I may have made about two cents an hour making this :)  Good thing I do love making this blanket (I have made several)

FO Friday (May 20th 2011)

Holy smokeronis!!! I have a finished object (FO) to report this week!  My first time participating in tami's amis group!!  Please go and check out other FOs over there!

So my hubby graduated with his Master of Divinity on May 11th so I bought him an iPod Touch for a gift.  He asked if I would make him a little cover for it.  Who could so no??  So I poked around for patterns on Rav and found this one that I thought was cute (not too cute though since it is for a dude).

Started: May 15th 2011
Finished: May 18th 2011 (it likely only took a few hours to make)
Needles: 2.5mm Addi's
Yarn: Leftover Berroco Sock yarn (used a very small amount)
Modifications: I didn't pay attention to the pattern and forgot to do a few rows of decreases at the end.  Still works though!
