Year of Projects Update #2

Two weeks and two finishes!!  I don't expect this trend to continue though!  Over the past week I managed to finish my Zip socks.  I was very happy to get those all done!

Other things I did this week included going over a few of my really old WIPs and mulling over what to do with them.  I will be adding them to my WIP list for this Year of Projects challenge soon.  This will be a topic for another day's blog post.  I also went through ALL my yarn and made sure all was listed in my Ravelry stash page.  This way I will know what I have and in what tub it lives.  I did a blog post showing off my stash!  Finally I managed to do up some more of the little squares for my scrap afghan.  I now have 72 squares completed (22 more from last week).  Soon I will have to decide if I want to make this into several baby blankets or into one large bedspread.

Here is a picture of my finished Zip socks.  You can see more pictures in my Friday blog post.

and a picture of how many scrap squares are now made (72 squares now):

and I made a little bit of progress on my Vanilla Socks:

  2. I think it depends on what you want to do with the blanket(s). If you have use for several baby blankets, then go for it. Otherwise, I see no problem making one big blanket.

Of course, I hope to make a Beekeeper's Quilt someday but it's going to take a lot more socks before I get to that point :)

  3. The scrap squares are so pretty! I would say see how you feel once you have enough for a baby blanket. I find my enthusiasm for blankets sometimes diminishes by the time I finish a large amount of squares :).

  6. Your zips are great. If it were me, I'd make several baby blankets but that's because the idea of assembling a bed spread sized coverlet makes me tired :) Lazy old me!

  7. Those are very cool socks with the zippers. I had a box of granny squares once... Made a stash busting blanket... I love it.

  8. Those zip socks are a riot! They remind me of the kangaroo zip sneakers but yours is a sock version. How do they feel when you wear them?

  9. Those socks are gorgeous and look really cosy. I love the idea of the blanket but I wouldn't have the skills or patience to put it together!

  10. I'd vote for one large blanket. But, if you make baby blankets then you have gifts ready to rock.....
