I haven't posted a WIP-it Wednesday update lately and thought it was time.
My current project that I need to focus on now is my Around the World afghan that I am making for a friend to give his wife for her birthday in the beginning of August. I have made quite a bit of progress on it but it still needs a lot of work (and I would like to get more done now while it is cooler than in July...) Right now I estimate that I am about 25% complete! Currently I have 281 squares sewn together, 32 squares waiting to be sewn on, and 912 squares left to be crocheted and sewn on!
Here is the picture of where I am now:
Soon it is going to get more difficult to get pictures of this! This is on a double size bed and is being made for a queen size bed.

I first thought it was a quilt. beautiful work and I am sure it will be a labour of love that you are going to have separation anxiety over!
ReplyDeleteWOW - I think you have made loads of progress - although it sounds like you still have lots to do. The colours are really nice.
ReplyDeleteWow - I echo the previous sentiments - absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWOW the afghan is just stunning! I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteHow big/small are your squares? That sounds like enough squares to make like 10 blankets? Very pretty color combo, except it makes me think of fall, and though it still feels that way here, I'm trying hard to concentrate on summer.
ReplyDeletebeautiful, you certainly have your work cut out. Great colours
ReplyDeleteLovely! How on earth are you going to be able to give it away after all that work?!? I don't know if I could :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that is one spectacular gift! And you're making it for someone else to give? Pretty amazing all around. Oh, and it's gorgeous, too!
ReplyDeleteOMG...that afghan is a big undertaking...I'm not sure I would stay at it long enough to finish it...I'm not good putting pieces together....but your's look great......
ReplyDeleteOh good for you! I absolutely LOVE crocheted quilts, and I absolutely HATE sewing things together so I will never make one myself. But they are so gorgeous, hats off to you, can't wait to see it as it progresses!
ReplyDeleteIt's BEAUTIFUL. I'm sure she's going to be floored when she receives it.
ReplyDeleteOh. My God. That is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a quilt before I enlarged the picture. Someday I hope to have the patience you do for a project like that.
I love this! Good luck with all of your blocks and the dreaded sewing together process.
